THE ORIGIN STORY

Manatii is a family owned, had crafted, small batch rum production aiming to change the face of rum in the industry.

We wanted to steer away from the cliches often associated with rum and instead celebrate the vibrancy of the Caribbean. With colorful, fun branding and a deliciously smooth taste, we are here to shake up and inject a new lease of life into the rum market.

Hope Town is the first batch of our signature dark rum. Distilled with passion in bespoke stills using a 300 year old St. Lucian family recipe and process passed down through generations. Hope Town is bottled by hand in beautiful, individually numbered bottles.

Hope Town is inspired by the rich cultural history of the Caribbean and proceeds from every bottle sold help support Caribbean communities to rebuild and recover in the wake of natural disasters.

THE SECRET SAUCE

While our recipe is a closely guarded secret and we can’t share it, we can definitely give some background about the rich cultural background we aim to celebrate with it.

Wanting to stay close and true to our Caribbean roots we chose to partner with a distiller from the island of St. Lucia, Sylvester Herman. Our recipe has been passed down in our distiller’s family for generations. It differs from many other recipes in its origin. About 300 years ago in St. Lucia Sylvester’s ancestors worked as slaves on sugar cane plantations, and to quench their thirst under the scorching hot sun they distilled their own rum. This is still the recipe we use today.

We are proud to celebrate the longevity and resiliency of cultures across the Caribbean in having survived and overcome the oppression of colonization, and in turn resulted in incredibly unique and beautiful island communities.
